What is Swinging?
Swinging, also known as sharing, partner swapping or wife swapping, or sometimes "The Lifestyle" is simply a groups of consenting adults (18+) enjoying sexual relationships with multiple partners.
Most swingers are into having sex with total strangers, as it enhances the thrill of playing with other people, however there must still be some physical or mental attraction to make things work.
Long term research by anthropologists in the USA and Europe has found that couples who swing:
- have a more stable relationship
- talk to each other more
- have a "very good" sex life at home
- are happier than the general population
- have less STI (sexually transmitted infections) than the general population
- have less cases of stress than the general population.
Swinging is one of many terms used for the practice of partner swapping, or involving other couples, or singles into a couples lovemaking.
Swinging has been around for centuries, and enjoyed by many cultures. The only places where swinging is not practiced openly is where the major religions have managed to brainwash the people into believing it is wrong or dirty.

Swinging is one of the oldest forms of group entertainment, having been practiced by man from the beginning of time, even in times of strict religious persecution, swingers managed to have fun.
It started gaining popularity during world war 2, and then in the 1960's with the introduction of the birth control pill swinging became very popular.
Through the 1970's and 1980's the porn industry tapped into the swinging lifestyle and introduced magazines containing personal ads of people looking for others for sex these were accompanied by a nude photo. The interested person had to write a letter, send it to the publishers, who would then forward it to the advertiser. This was a slow process, but it helped the Swinging Lifestyle grow.
In the late 1970's in the UK it was calculated that about 10% of the adult population was involved in, or wanted to be involved in, the swinging lifestyle.
Since the advent of the internet swinging has become a more widely practiced lifestyle due to the ease of identifying and contacting people who want to live out the same fantasies.
Websites such as "Indian Swingers Party" offer detailed information about the likes and dislikes of potential play-mates, and offer a quick and secure method of contacting each other.
Swinging is openly practiced in most countries, except where political or religious circumstances make it too dangerous. Even in these countries many people find a way to make contact and enjoy their lives.
Current research shows that most European countries and Northern American countries have a swinging population of between 20% and 25% of over 18 year olds.
